The Thrive Approach
The Thrive Approach is an online tool that allows Practitioners to assess a child's emotional and social development, and create strategies to support gaps in development. Thrive's mission is to positively impact the lives of millions of children and young people so they feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Thrive uses research from the following fields to inform it's approach:

Neuroscience
Connections in the brain are shaped through experience. Many connections are made in the first 3 years of life but neuroplasticity means that neuronal growth and pruning can happen at any stage of life.

Attachment Theory
The relationship a child has with their primary caregiver has a huge impact on their social and emotional development.

Child Development
When we understand what we can expect from our children at each age and stage, we can be best placed to support them.

Core Principles of The Thrive Approach:
1) The adult-child relationship is key.
2) Emotional health & wellbeing are connected directly to a child's emotional development which, in turn, affects their behaviour & progress in learning & relationships.
3)Teachers & other adults who work with children need strategies to prevent behavioural problems & to meet the developmental needs of young people within the learning environment.
